Abstract

One of the intestinal worms that is still happening a lot in Indonesia is the Enterobius vermicularis worm infection species (pinworms). The disease strikes all ages, but most sufferers are children aged 5 – 14 years old. Children sitting in elementary school are susceptible to infection of Enterobius vermicularis (pinworms), generally affecting personal hygiene or cleanliness is the personal self one is the habit of washing hands. Research objectives knowing the relationship between the habit of hand washing with infection of Enterobius vermicularis (pinworms) on student of SDN 4 Cempaka Banjarbaru. The type of research used in this research is an analytical survey research with cross sectional. The habit of washing hands on the students of SDN 4 Cempaka Banjarbaru is 14 people (32%) who have bad hand washing habit, 19 people (43%) have good hand washing habit and 11 people (25%) have good handwashing habit. Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm) infection in SDN 4 Cempaka Banjarbaru students from 44 respondents there were 3 people (7%) positive infected Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm) and 41 people (93%) uninfected Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm). The results of statistical test using Chi-Square method showed that Ho was denied column Sig, Asymp is 0.032 or below 0.05 (0.032 < 0.05) there is a relationship between the habit of hand washing with infection of Enterobius vermicularis (pinworms) on student of SDN 4 Cempaka Banjarbaru, hance students of SDN 4 Cempaka Banjarbaru expected maintain cleanliness self namely habits washing the hands that not infected Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm)
