ABSTRACT

Dissolved Oxygen (= DO) is the amount of milligrams of oxygen dissolved in water or wastewater that is expressed with mgO2 / L. Decreased levels of dissolved oxygen in waters because of oxygen dissolved in the water is absorbed by the microorganisms to perform the reform process (decomposition) of organic waste material. The purpose of this study is to determine the levels of dissolved oxygen in paringin river, kecamatan paringin kabupaten balangan due tempe industrial waste. This study is a descriptive survey. The samples of this study is river that located in kecamatan paringin kabupaten balangan. The samples were taken by purposive sampling. Tests is performed by the Winkler titration method. The test results are obtained value of dissolved oxygen at the point 1 is 6.58 mg/l, point 2 is 2.76 mg/l, point 3 is 6.43 mg/l, point 4 is 5.82 mg/l, and point 5 is 7.04 mg/l. Based on the water quality standard Class I according to the Indonesian Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001 on Water Quality Management and Control of Water Pollution, the minimum levels of dissolved oxygen in the water is 6 mg/l. So it can be declared dissolved oxygen at point 1, point 3, and point 5 has qualify the minimum value of dissolved oxygen for water quality standard Class 1. Suggestions for relevant agencies to conduct regular counseling and evaluation to overcome the impact of the disposal of industrial waste and household waste to the surrounding community.
